Kathy Lively is Chief Executive Officer of Man-Tra-Con Corporation. She began her work in Adult Basic Education culminating as Associate Dean of Adult Basic and Secondary Education at John A. Logan College in Carterville, Illinois. She is past president of the Illinois Adult and Continuing Educators Association (IACEA) and past chair of the Illinois Community College Adult Education and Family Literacy Advisory Council. Kathy also served as president of the Illinois Workforce Partnership board. Kathy holds two degrees from Southern Illinois University — Carbondale: Bachelor of Science in English, Secondary Education Certification; and Master of Science in Education, Workforce Education and Development. She has extensive experience in the field of education, with twenty years of instruction at multiple levels of K-12 and alternative education. In addition, she has work experience in the manufacturing, retail, and office administration fields. Nominated by the Governor of Illinois to participate, Kathy is also a graduate of the Delta Regional Authority Advanced Leadership program, and currently serves as the Illinois delegate to the Delta Leadership Network board. Kathy is a member of the Southern Illinois Workforce Development Board, serving on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer. Kathy also serves as Executive Director of Connect SI, a 20-county collaborative committed to economic growth with region-wide broadband deployment, world-class health care, and innovative collaborations. In addition, Kathy currently serves as advisory member of the Williamson County Regional Development Corporation (REDCO), board member of the Jefferson County Development Corporation (JCDC), active member of several local Chambers of Commerce, and board member of Champion Community Investments. Recent recognitions include: Southern Illinois University’s “Inspiring Women of Achievement Award” in 2008; the Southern Business Journal’s “Leader Among Us” in 2006; and the 2007 Governor’s Workforce Conference Individual Leadership Award for her contributions to workforce/economic development.
