Rocki Wilkerson is the Executive Director of Workforce Investment Solutions located in Decatur, Illinois. Workforce Investment Solutions is a federally funded program that assists with the development of a workforce for Macon and DeWitt counties. Rocki is a Decatur native, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Human Services from the University of Illinois. She spent 23 years over Adult Education and Family Literacy for The Decatur Public School District, and currently serves on the Board for the Boys and Girls Club of Decatur, past Board Member of Catholic Charites, and served on the Illinois Adult and Continuing Educators Association (IACEA) Advisory Board. Working in Adult Education provided insight for short term vocational and technical education as well as enhanced literacy programs. The educational and vocational programs proved to open many doors for employment for the at-risk students. Understanding individuals with barriers and providing a Career Pathway early on is the key to self-sufficiency. Rocki’s mission is to create a pipeline of high-quality employees for business to draw from. To that end she says, “I believe that Workforce and its many community partners will work diligently to align a pathway for education and employment, improving job and career options for our area.”
